St. Vincent and the Grenadines is situated near the southern end of the Caribbean island chain. It is an archipelago of Islands. St. Vincent being the largest with smaller comprising of Bequia, Mustique, Canouan, Mayreau, Union Island, Palm Island, Petite St. Vincent and a number of smaller Islands.


St. Vincent has a mountainous interior with La Soufriere, an active volcano in the north rising 1,220 miters (4,000 ft) at its highest point. St. Vincent is approximately 29km (18 miles) long and 17km or 11 miles wide and has an area of 344sq km or 133sq km miles


The population is estimated at 109. 643. (2016 census) English is the official language spoken by the friendly and very hospitable people of the nation. St. Vincent has been blessed with lush mountains. Volcanic-rich soil and unspoiled landscapes. Our attractions include the Botanical Gardens, the oldest in the Western Hemisphere, and a favorite stop for visitors. There is Fort Charlotte, The largest fortification in the state. The fort stands on a ridge 600 feet above sea level giving a magnificent and unobstructive view of Kingstown and the Grenadines. 

La Soufriere is perhaps the most spectacular of the active volcanoes in the Caribbean and particularly attractive to persons interested in Adventure/Eco-Tourism. The Vermont nature trails is 9 miles from Kingstown and lead through tropical rain forests where there is a chance of seeing or hearing the St. Vincent parrot. (Amazona Gildingii) and the whistling Warbler, both unique to St. Vincent. This is also the habitat of the Black Hawk, Cocoa Thrush, Crested Hummingbird. Green Heron and several other interesting species.
